Evansville needs more housing than any one organization can build.
So the organizations working on it meet every month, in the same room, and have done so since 2014. Local government, nonprofit and for-profit developers, lenders, service providers, and anyone else with a stake in housing here.
What HOUSE is
Housing Organizations United Serving Evansville.
The coalition formed in 2014 to build trust between groups working on housing in Evansville and to keep everyone current on conditions locally and on the state and federal level. It is not incorporated and there are no membership requirements. What HOUSE has is a meeting space, a shared vision, and a desire to collaborate.
Inform
Program changes, funding rounds, code updates, and project milestones are shared in the room. Members bring what they're seeing and take back what everyone else is seeing.
Connect
A developer with a gap in the financing stack and a lender looking for CRA-eligible deals are often at the same table without knowing it. A fair amount of what HOUSE produces is introductions.
Advocate
When policy shifts, members work out a shared response instead of each writing separately. Prosperity Indiana brings statewide policy updates to Evansville through HOUSE.
What HOUSE meetings look like
Open, member-led discussion.
Meetings are open to everyone. There's no membership dues to pay and no requirement to represent an organization. If you have a stake in housing, you belong.

Funding rounds, code and program changes, and what's moving at the local, state, and federal level.

A problem somebody brings to the room, worked through by the people who can do something about it.

The agenda goes out a few days before, and notes are posted after. Meeting dates, trainings, and funding deadlines are all on the calendar.
Who's in the room
Anyone who has a stake in housing.
A single vacant duplex can be a code case, a financing problem, and somebody's housing search at the same time. The attendance list is broad because the work is.

What this site is
housecoalition.org is run by HOUSE, Housing Organizations United Serving Evansville, a volunteer coalition convened with the City of Evansville Department of Metropolitan Development. HOUSE is not incorporated and has no staff. The site is maintained by a small group of facilitators.
Accounts
You need an account to submit a project to the map, propose a correction, request a calendar event, or suggest a resource. When you create one you agree to give an accurate name and a working email address, and to keep your password to yourself.
You are responsible for what is submitted from your account. Facilitators can remove content and can revoke access to accounts that abuse the site.
What you submit
Everything submitted through the site goes to a facilitator for review before it appears publicly. Review is a check on plausibility and fit, not verification. Submitting something does not guarantee it gets published, and a facilitator may edit it for clarity or accuracy.
By submitting, you confirm you have the right to share the information and any files attached to it, and you give HOUSE permission to publish them on this site.
Accuracy
The projects map, the calendar, and the resource directory are maintained by coalition members and are offered as a shared working record. They are not an official record of the City of Evansville or of any member organization. Funding amounts, unit counts, deadlines, and program rules change often. Confirm anything you plan to rely on with the organization that owns it.
Links to other organizations are provided for convenience. HOUSE does not control those sites and is not responsible for what is on them.

The site is provided as it is, without warranty. It may be unavailable at times, and content may be changed or removed without notice.

What is collected
If you join the mailing list, HOUSE stores your name, email address, and optionally your organization, your role, and what topics you are interested in.
If you create an account, HOUSE stores your first and last name, email address, and optionally your organization and title. Passwords are handled by Supabase, the database service behind the site, and are stored hashed. Nobody at HOUSE can see your password.
If you submit a project, an event, or a resource, your name and email are attached to that submission so a facilitator can follow up.
What it is used for
Your email address is used to send meeting agendas, notes, funding notices, and policy updates. Nothing else. Roughly a few messages a month.
Your name and organization appear to facilitators reviewing your submissions. They are not shown publicly unless you put them in the content of a submission yourself.
Who else sees it
The mailing list and account details are visible to HOUSE facilitators, currently a group of about five people. They are not sold, rented, traded, or shared with anyone outside that group, and they are not used for anything other than HOUSE business.
The site runs on Vercel for hosting and Supabase for the database and sign in. Both process data on the coalition's behalf. Fonts are served by Google Fonts, which sees the request for the font file.
Cookies
The site sets no advertising or analytics cookies and does no tracking. If you sign in, your browser stores a session token so you stay signed in. Signing out clears it.
Getting off the list, or out of it
Every email carries a one click unsubscribe link. You can also manage your subscription from your account panel once signed in.
To have your account and everything attached to it deleted, email the facilitators and ask. It will be done, and you do not have to give a reason.

The site is meant for housing practitioners and is not directed at children.
